Focus on organic anti-yellow shampoo

Do you sometimes notice different reflections, more golden or coppery, or even slightly greenish, in your light hair? This is perfectly normal: sun, chlorine, pollution and dust tend to alter the shade of blond, gray and white hair. Your hairdresser has probably advised you to use an organic anti-yellow shampoo to fix this. But is it really effective? Let’s take a closer look.

Pourquoi utiliser un shampoing déjaunissant bio ?

Hair is subjected daily to many external aggressions: sun, pollution, dust, sea salt and chlorine all affect hair health, especially colored hair, by altering its shade. Light and/or bleached hair is particularly sensitive to these color variations. If you fall into one of these categories, chances are that at the end of summer, after a few weeks in the sun, perhaps by the sea or at the pool, you’ve noticed that your lengths and ends have lightened significantly and developed warm undertones.

This is where the organic anti-yellow shampoo comes in: thanks to its blue or violet pigments, it neutralizes unwanted undertones in your hair. How? Through a balance system that is entirely logical: blue and violet are positioned exactly opposite yellow and orange on the color wheel used in hair coloring. Their use corrects these undesirable undertones. Applied regularly, natural anti-yellow shampoo enhances light hair and helps maintain a subtle, balanced color. A cosmetic long favored for maintaining light tones, until the creation of a revolutionary product.

More than an organic anti-yellow shampoo, a real treatment for light hair

At Hairborist, we refused to create a standard organic anti-yellow shampoo and instead chose to offer a treatment for light hair to be applied on dry hair, before shampooing. We specifically combine two products:

  • Renovator, a blend of precious vegetable oils such as argan oil, sesame oil, safflower oil and jojoba oil, selected for their exceptional properties,
  • Nacre, a synergy of essential oils including tansy (with its intense blue hue) as well as lemon and wild chamomile (renowned for giving beautiful reflections to light tones).

By adding a few drops of Nacre to your Renovator, you boost its effect and target an anti-yellowing action. That is the innovation: your hair benefits from a 2-in-1 treatment, nourishing the hair and rebalancing the scalp thanks to vegetable oils, while treating unwanted undertones with essential oils. Goodbye to conventional organic anti-yellow shampoos, hello to time- and space-saving care in the bathroom!

Working on dry hair also provides striking results: unlike the usual anti-yellow shampoo, which cannot penetrate the hair fiber because water creates a barrier, our exclusive treatment regenerates in depth. Dry hair, being completely “naked,” absorbs the active ingredients efficiently, for an optimal and lasting effect. The result: yellowish tones disappear, light hair is adorned with beautiful pearly reflections and regains its natural, radiant color.

Going further with plant-based coloring

While plant-based coloring cannot lighten hair (it contains no chemical agents necessary to lighten the natural pigmentation of the fiber), it can play with reflections to achieve what is called a “visual lightening effect.” This means that by bringing intense golden reflections to your hair, it will gain incredible shine and reflect light much better. The tone level of your hair will not have changed, but by optical effect it will appear lighter. You will also gain in hair quality: 100% natural, plant coloring regulates the scalp, coats the hair and fades harmoniously, avoiding the dreaded “roots effect.”

Last but not least: did you know that natural colorings are far more stable over time than oxidation colorings or bleaching? Unlike conventional techniques, which involve opening the hair cuticle to modify pigmentation, plant-based coloring gently coats the cuticle. The hair structure remains intact, the hair stays healthy, retains the color and does not tend to fade or dull.

The Hairborist plant-based coloring range consists of three blond pigments that provide a visual lightening effect:

  • Light Blond: a very light blond with soft golden reflections,
  • Pure Blond: a covering blond with more intense golden reflections,
  • Warm Blond: a Venetian blond with golden/copper reflections.

Mixed together and sometimes enhanced with indigo—a plant pigment that neutralizes and/or darkens natural colorings—these pigments allow us to access a wide palette of golden tones. Depending on your natural base, your Hairborist hairdresser will advise you on the best options and create a custom blend adapted to your hair.

You’ve understood it: beyond an organic anti-yellow shampoo, natural cosmetics offer multiple ways to care for light hair. Vegetable oils, essential oil synergies and natural pigments provide amazing benefits, nourish the fiber in the long term and correct unwanted undertones in blond, gray and white hair. Abandon the traditional anti-yellow shampoo and adopt the right natural solutions now, to make your light hair shine more effectively!
